Atlanta Bird Fair

We went to the Atlanta bird fair yesterday morning, and got 7 society finches.  :-)

Above: Male crested, female, female (all bought at the Atlanta bird fair)

Above: On the left is the white crested probable-female (Everest; we already had her), and on the stick front-to-back are the two males we already had (Pepper and Kenny with his white "beard").  On the back of the stick is one of the crested societies we got at the bird fair yesterday.  Not sure of its gender yet.  It's a little puffy.  Hopefully it's just tired from the trip and all the commotion.

This fills the three flight cages here in my office, so I'm good to go for awhile.  I plan to eventually set up a community cage again, if/when these have youngsters.  No more zebra finches, though! ;-)

Above:  Here's what the stack of cages looks like at the moment.  The bottom two cages are lighted and have a leafy-patterned fabric behind them.  The top cage still needs some kind of background and a light.  I plan to put a curtain on the bottom to hide my boxes of craft stuff.  I may paint the stand, too.  Right now it's just plain wood.  The top cage has a camera in the nest, but so far they haven't shown any interest in exploring it.
